CIT’s Client Internet Reporting system provides immediate access to your reports over the Internet. These web-based reports will look just like your paper reports and where applicable, also in Microsoft Excel Spreadsheet format.
Listed below are the supported web browsers and the software prerequisites for using each of the viewing methods. Please contact the CIT Support Services Helpdesk for USERID and PASSWORD for the system.
System and Security Requirements -
For Operating Systems Windows 95, 98 NT, 2000, ME and XP:
- All connections to CIT Report.Web are made over Internet Port 80 using standard HTTP and HTTPS communications.
- CIT stores user preferences so that they may be recalled and used again after logging back into its Websites. These preferences are stored in a file called a "cookie". Cookies are small files created by web sites to store information on your computer, such as your preferences when visiting our systems. The browser stores the cookie and sends it back to the web server each time the browser requests a page from the server.
- Report.Web System requires a Microsoft Java Virtual Machine to exist on the computer. The first time you connect to the CIT Report.Web server your computer will be inspected to determine if a compatible version is installed. If a supported Virtual Machine is not installed you will be prompted to install one from the Report.Web server.
- Some Windows XP users may be prompted to install the Virtual Machine and get redirected to a Microsoft web site only to discover that automatic installation of the Virtual Machine is no longer provided. Those users may either click here to perform the installation, or install Windows XP Service Pack 1 which includes the Virtual Machine. It is strongly recommended that after installing the Virtual Machine by clicking on the link above that users visit Microsoft's Windows Update web site for any security patches or updates that may be available.
- In order to view Microsoft Excel spreadsheets using Report.Web you will need to have either Microsoft Excel or some other third-party Excel compatible application installed.
